What is a mesh network?

Two or more eero devices will connect to form a Mesh Network. One eero will act as your router and connect to additional eeros that are placed through your home.

Each eero will broadcast it’s own WiFi signal and together they create a eero TrueMesh network, to intelligently route network traffic.

This extends the reach of your WiFi connection while avoiding dead zones and drop-offs.

Allowing everyone in the home to enjoy strong, fast and stable WiFi in every room.

HOW MANY EEROS DO I NEED?

If your house is over 140m2 it is recommended that you consider additional eeros to ensure your house in blanketed in WiFi.

Homes that have multiple levels or have brick or concrete internal walls that are known to interfere with WiFi signal may also benefit from forming a TrueMesh network with 2 or more eeros.

How many eero routers do I need for my home?

Each home is different and a number of factors may affect your coverage, but we recommend the below to achieve the best internet experience.

Standard homes up to 140m² - 1 eero

Large homes up to 280m² - 2 eeros

Larger homes up to 420m² - 3 eeros

How do I set up my eero?

In order to set up your eero router, you will need to download the eero app. You will also need an internet connection or mobile data to complete the in-app set up process. Find out more info here on how to se up your device.

I’m a new customer- Which Fibre offers include a eero?

Eero routers are available on all our Fibre plans. A couple of options are below:
You will receive one eero for free when you join us on our Samsung 2 year electricity and broadband offer. You can choose to purchase up to 2 additional eero routers for $5 each per month for 24 months. ($14.95 P&H cost regardless of number of eeros chosen).

If you choose to join us on a 1 year electricity and broadband bundle offer to take advantage of 6 months free broadband offer, or add Fibre on an open term basis you will be able to purchase 1-3 eeros for $5 per month, for 24 months. ($14.95 P&H cost regardless of number of eeros chosen).

I already have an eero. Can I order another?

Yes! If you need additional eero’s to improve the coverage in your home you can give our customer service team a call on 0800 10 18 10. You will have the option to purchase one for $5 per month for 24 months or you can pay a one- off charge of $120. There will be an additional $14.95 for postage and handling. These charges will be added to your monthly Mercury bill.

Do I get to keep the eero 6+ routers?

Absolutely! The eeros that you get with your plan or any additional ones that you purchase are yours to keep.

How is an eero TrueMesh Network different to a WiFi extender?

Traditional WiFi extenders can expand the reach of your existing wireless network but can limit your bandwidth as they rely on a single wireless radio for both upload and download data. You may also need to choose to connect to either the router or the Wifi Extender depending on where you are in the house.

Eeros are designed to work together to create a single network with multiple access points. They have two radios for simultaneously sending and receiving data. This functionality allows you to seamlessly access the same WiFi connection throughout your home on a single network.

Traditional WiFi extenders create a separate signal for your home. eeros work seamlessly together to blanket your home in seamless coverage.
